At present, the mainstream TV screen has LCD screen and OLED screen.

LCD stands for Liquid Crystal Display screen. LCD needs to be illuminated by the backlight plate to display, the principle is based on the white light through the color filter to produce different colors, through the current control of each pixel light rate,

Resolution

The resolution we say here usually refers to the screen resolution, refers to the precision of the screen image, the screen is composed of a pixel, so the more pixels can be displayed on the display, the finer the picture, the more information can be displayed in the same screen area, 

so the resolution is a very important screen performance indicator.

The screen is actually made up of lattice pixels. Therefore, in the case of a certain screen area, the more pixels, the clearer the screen. At the same resolution, the pixels of the OLED screen are not as good as LCD. Especially if you are used to the 1080p LCD screen and then change to the OLED screen,

 there may be a more obvious sense of granularity visually. Of course, this phenomenon is not obvious at 2k resolution.

It can be understood as the number of images refreshed per second on the screen.


Because the human eye receives a range of frequencies, if the screen refresh rate is too low, the image on the display will produce stuttering and flickering, and the user's eyes will also be tired and sore.


For traditional displays, the lower the refresh rate, the more severe the image flicker and jitter, and the faster the eye fatigue. Sometimes it causes sore eyes, dizziness and other symptoms. Therefore, the higher the screen refresh rate will make the visual experience smoother.


Generally speaking, the refresh frequency of 60Hz is the configuration taken on the general TV screen at present, and the more high-end products will use the refresh frequency of 120Hz.

Usually we can often hear 1080p, 2k, 4k can also be understood as how many pixels can be displayed on a screen. 4K means that the screen has approximately 4000 pixels in the horizontal direction, which usually means that the resolution is 4K level. Depending on the range of use, 4K resolution also has a variety of derived resolutions, such as Full Aperture 4K 4096*3112, Academy 4K 3656*2664 and UHDTV standard 3840*2160, all belong to the category of 4K resolution. 1080p usually has a resolution of 1920 by 1080, also known as Full HD. 1080p means that the screen has 1080 pixels in the vertical direction. In the case of a certain display resolution, the smaller the display, the clearer the image, on the contrary, when the display size is fixed, the higher the display resolution, the clearer the image.

Backlight Performance

Backlighting is a form of lighting that is often used on screen displays. The backlight is the light from the inside of the screen. The LCD screen itself is not luminous, so if you want to present the image on the LCD screen, it is necessary to illuminate the screen, which is the role of the backlight. 

LCD is a cold light source tube light, LED is a light emitting diode light. However, they are used to illuminate the LCD screen.

LCD TV backlight types are mainly divided into two types: side in and straight down.

Side-entry backlight refers to the arrangement of lamp beads around the TV, the common form is the TV sides or the bottom of the TV.

The direct-down backlight arranges the lamp beads on the back of the TV, so the direct-down TV is usually thicker than the side-in one.

According to traditional standards, the straight down backlight: can achieve better local light control, but the cost is higher, will make the TV thicker. Side-entry backlight: The cost is lower, the TV can be made thinner, but the local light control ability is limited.

The advantages of direct-down backlight technology are high gray level, good light Angle, high light utilization efficiency, simple structure, etc. A certain space is reserved between the diffusion plate and the LED light source to improve the uniformity of brightness, 

so the direct-down backlight also increases the thickness, weight and power consumption of the module, so the number of light sources, luminous brightness and power consumption are greater than the side-in backlight.

 there will be deformation and deviation, the surface details of the screen more objects, the overall will be blurred, while the surface of the flat object, the moving edge will also be delayed. 

MEMC motion compensation can improve the sampling rate of the original data, shorten the duration of each frame, and reduce the continuous action time of each frame on the human visual system, thus reducing the drag.
