Automotive wiring harness is used to connect the car circuit "central nervous system", is a variety of energy and signal transmission carrier, it is all over the various functional parts of the car, is the lifeblood of the car network. Connectors are electrical modules or units that are connected between wiring harnesses or electrical appliances to provide a convenient and reliable electrical installation interface for electrical connections. I.Definition And Classification OF Connections

The connection is divided into three categories according to its working principle: shape lock connection, friction lock connection and material lock connection. V-lock connection refers to interlocking through the shape of the connected parts or additional fixed parts, so that it has a connection effect, such as bolt connection 

with reamer holes, snap hook connection; Friction locking connection refers to the clamping of the connected parts, generating friction on the contact surface to prevent the relative movement of the connected parts, to achieve the purpose of connection, such as tight bolt connection under lateral load,

Connections are divided into detachable connections and non-detachable connections according to detachable connections. Detachable connection is a connection that can be disassembled without destroying any part of the connection,

 so multiple disassembly is not harmful to its performance, such as the connection of the connector is basically a detachable connection. A non-removable connection is a connection that must be broken at least one part of the connection to be opened, 

such as the connection between the double-layer piece terminal steel card and the body, the connection between the terminal and the wire harness, the U-shaped connection between the wire harness and the wire harness, or the welding.

The connection interface of the automotive connector and the outside is generally divided into the terminal plug connection interface, the wire and terminal crimping connection interface, the terminal and PCB welding connection interface and the connection interface between the insulating shell.

2.1 The Interface For Connecting The Terminal

As an intermediate part of the wiring harness unit or electrical unit, the connector plays the role of a metal contact that transmits current or signals, generally in the form of a plug terminal and a socket terminal, or through a bolt fastening hole terminal connection. The connection provides a detachable connection called a terminal contact connection interface, which is generally a shape locking connection and a friction locking connection.

2.2 Interface For Connecting Terminals And Conductors

The terminal of the connector is generally connected with a wire connection unit, which provides a connection interface for non-removable connections, generally friction locking connections or material locking connections. For example, commonly used mechanical cold crimping and welding, mechanical cold crimping and open crimping and closed crimping.

2.3 Insert The PIN Terminal Into The PCB Connection Interface

In addition to the wire connection, the connector terminal is also connected to the PCB of the electrical appliance through the board connector, thus forming a non-removable terminal PCB connection interface. This connection interface is generally a material locking connection.

2.4 Insulating Shell Attachment Connecting Interface

The connection protection of terminals requires insulation shells such as sheath for protection. Different connection interfaces require different types of shell (sheath) accessories. The connection of insulation shell accessories generates shell connection interfaces. Connector terminals need to be first installed, fixed into the sheath insulation housing, and then through the locking between the shells to create a connection interface, to provide a reliable surrounding environment for terminal connection. Because of the consideration of convenient installation and maintenance and disassembly, the requirements are removable connections, generally have hook connections, CPA or threaded shell connections, and this connection is generally a shape lock connection interface.
